TC Archery Records Best Finish In Program History At National Tournament. Abplanalp with a top three finish in the country. TCES 6th in 3D division. Triton Central Archery competed in the National Archery in the Schools National Tournament on May, 12 in Louisville, Kentucky. The tournament featured teams from 31 states with over 11,000 archers in grades 4-12.
Triton Central sent teams in every division (Elementary, Middle, and High School) in both the bullseye and 3D (animal targets). On the bullseye side, every team from TC had their best finish ever at the national tournament. TCES, who was state champion in both bullseye and 3D, brought home 20th place with some scores that will rearrange the record books at TC. Mason Abplanalp finished with the 3rd best score in the country and set a new school record with a score of 284. TCMS also set a new school record as a team with a score of 3208. TCHS added 11 points to their previous best score at nationals to record a 3159.
This was also the first year that TC Archery has sent teams to compete in the 3D division at NASP Nationals. After winning the Indiana NASP state tournament, TCES held the #1 ranking in the country for 8 weeks. During that time, they improved their own best score from a 1554 to a 1568. At Nationals, the elementary team improved that score to a 1570.
